This album is entirely non-profit, and only meant to spread the joy of the season. Download it for free and please share it with your family and friends! Whatever it is that you seek this holiday, I hope you can find some glimmer of it within the music presented here. Returning for its second year, I have produced another holiday collaboration with my friends. Every year I meet more interesting and talented people and this album is our chance to introduce ourselves to you by doing what we do best. Each artist worked independently to produce the work they have featured here.

Holiday music has always struck me as a genre of music that paradoxically contains all other genres. We either consider all holiday themed songs as one genre, alienating them from their origins, or we consider their origins and the web that binds our holiday songs together thins out. Is it wrong to assert that holiday music is even a genre at all? In the 17th century it was traditional for town musicians to go door to door asking for alms and church donations in return for performing carols. Today holiday music has become a tradition sustained by radio stations, department stores, pagan ritual, salvation army volunteers, Sufjan Stevens, and forcibly subjected house pets.

So keep the tradition alive! Take a moment to just sit down and listen to some new music, that you won’t hear anywhere else.
