the 4th annual winter EP

wow. I can't believe there's four of these.

It's now the end of the year 2018, a year of transformation as a nation and as individuals. Tomorrow is a the premiere of "Barney the Elf", a holiday musical about the freedom of self expression and my Chicago premiere as music director with a theatrical production. I recommend you go see it! This year I moved to a new city and grew as a person and a performer and I'm working with an incredible cast of new colleagues but I'm definitely missing long time friends on the East coast. I'm having a good time though. That's the sound of the rhythm of life, shifting meter.

In "Winter EP" 4 we explore, yet again, commercialism and popular culture in correspondence with our cyclical celebration of love, generosity, togetherness and compassion. Taylor Ford and I worked together on this one. I suggested it to him in November that the Winter EP may be a good chance to collaborate and we rolled with it. He also helped me extensively to complete my backing tracks for the "Barney the Elf" musical. It's like we recorded a double EP but the other EP is a secret, or a friendly ghost (Unless you go see the musical playing till January 6th at the "Pride Theater" in Chicago).
