Produced by Paul Sottnik and Jon Clark
Album art by Sarah Reimar

All of these wonderful people were talented enough to go with the flow, enjoy the musical moment and create something wonderful in a very short amount of time! Planning could only start the morning before, when in a small fit of too much coffee I developed the concept and begged Jon Clark to indulge me in recording several tracks in one night. I am especially thankful to Jon for trusting me enough to believe we could do some justice to this idea. Everything you hear was recorded (and rehearsed) on the spot in Studio A at SUNY Fredonia between the hours of 6pm and 2am on the night of Dec 1st 2015. "Silver Bells" was recorded first with Aurora and Zoe and that sort of set the tone for what was to come. It's worth noting that "Silver Bells" and "Silent Night" were very last minute changes to the original plan after a different group was unable to make it. Things happen, you go with the flow, and we got excellent results. After cutting those tracks we had a 10 minute window before the band came in. In this moment I hashed out Jingle Bells twice and we kept the second take. With the band set up, we first recorded "The Christmas Song", and then followed it up with "Carol of the Bells" and "My Favorite Things". "Carol of the Bells" was an arrangement I created in 2013 and I was very excited to get an updated take on an old chart. "My Favorite Things" is the most freely approached track. The "meshy" sax texture was inspired by listening to the saxes as they warmed up and familiarized themselves with the notes of the tune. By the time we finished it was 12:30am, and then Frank, Aurora and I hung around to record "I'll be Home for Christmas". The album art was the last piece of the puzzle. After about 2 weeks of conceptual planning, the final product was realized by Sarah and I in the wee 24 hours before the time we posted the album on the internet! It has been such a treat working with this very talented crowd of musicians. Please enjoy this album. Its for you.
